I'm still having trouble with my extreme trackers. The code I put on (what I call) my main edit page that edits (what I call) my index page to all my galleries works just fine. However, I have extreme trackers on most of my individual galleries and they do not work. And, yes, I do have different and specific html code for those individual galleries, I'm not using the identical code that I use on my gallery index page. What now?

The available Tracker codes now go into dedicated sections within your "Profile" Edit area, instead of in each gallery. Extreme Tracker will only track the root gallery unless you have a paid account (regardless of number of codes used). This is in their terms of service.

Other options you might consider are StatCounter, and Google Analytics which support stats for all galleries, and all images within each gallery. And the big bonus is not having to add code into each gallery, and it's free.

To ANY "Google Analytic" Users ---

Post Wed Aug 01, 2007 6:30 pm

-- I'm perplexed.

Made an account in Google Analytics. Google advises that "tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page."

Did entered the account number in "my profile" plug-in page. Did install the code in the some of my galleries "description" boxes, below anything else in the boxes. Was that the right place???

I know Google says it can take 24 hours to see a report but to me that's not what their wording of "tracking code has not been detected on your website's home page" is telling me. I read that as meaning no tracking is detected, so no data can be accumulated for a report.

When I signed up, the Website Url that I entered was http://www.pbase.com, and the Account Name http://www.pbase.com/10kzoomfz. Was that correct??? Why do I ask this question? Because at the Google Tracking Status page the Profile Name and the Website URL are both the same.

'Nother question. Can more than one 'brand' of tracker be run together on PBase??
(This kind if "stuff" is not generally my forté.)

Thanks for any help or reassurance. 10kzoomfz

In reference to my post above this .....

Well, perhaps I was a little too impatient after setting up the account for Google Analytic. After a while things look ok, other than having to wait a day or two for enough data to build up for a report.

Google Analytic data isn't "live" the way Statcounter's is...
and different focus too.

How to delete the extreme tracking code?

Post Fri Aug 03, 2007 3:56 pm

I tried to delete the extreme tracking code in my account/plugins screen, but this is not possible. When entering a space and clicking update I get the error message:
" There was an error validating your ExtremeTracking code. Please try again, or send mail including your code to slug@pbase.com for more help."
So it seems only a new valid extremetracking code is allowed...

So.. how to delete it?

1. Why did you do "entering a space" ?

2. Try just deleting it and then pressing update

3. Did you mail "slug@pbase.com" as it says ?
Copy support@pbase.com
as he might be away doing something else...

1. Why did you do "entering a space" ?

Well, the box where you can put the code ("Entire Javscript Code") is completely empty.
Look at this screen:

2. Try just deleting it and then pressing update

There is nothing to delete.

3. Did you mail "slug@pbase.com" as it says ?
Copy support@pbase.com
as he might be away doing something else...

Yes, I did..... I've not been answered yet.
Did not copy it to support, though... going to do that now... thanks

Martin, the box -should- be empty.

If you leave it empty and don't add a space, can you press OK or update,
without getting the error message?

Let us know how it goes, whether support gets back to you or not and
whether it was fixed, as it might come up again. Good luck !

Hello Andrys,

Yes, it's possible to press the update button and then get the message:
"Your account has been updated. "
But the text behind 'Current settings' does not change, so I suppose the action didn't do a thing..
This can be verified because the extreme logo is still below my root gallery...

thanks for thinking along...

IF you added the code into your gallery description area, you'll need to remove it manually yourself, since the area in the profile edit doesn't do it for you. Not sure this is the problem, but the code does show when I looked at the description html.

Hmmm, the Extreme code is where pbase would put it, at least now.
I don't see it in the description-box though it might have been there when
you saw it earlier, Dang.

Martin, try deleting the words in your PBase account settings box again
until it's blank once more and then don't type a space or anything but
press update right away. I'm still not clear that you've done that since
you mentioned typing a space before updating.

*IF* that fails as well, write again in one email to
support@pbase.com,
help@pbase.com,
slug@pbase.com,
emily@pbase.com

until you reach someone since they should know if the
Extreme box deletion isn't functioning. They've said that
support@pbase.com email address should work these days but
in your case it seems not to have worked yet.

And slug did request that problems on this be sent him.

ctstone, are you reading the thread ? I remember you were
working on all this...

Hello dang,

No I did not enter the code in the description area of my root gallery.
The code is entered there by pbase, just like they do it for statcounter and google analytics. You can see this code too in the source html.

But thanks anyway..
