We're printing photos in the school lab from our Nikon D80 through Epson 3800 and 4000s and on both printers they come out great prints!
To save money, we ordered one 3800 refillable cartridges from an online store, but 3 of the refillable cartridges never worked and eventually clogged the print heads. The support guy said the cartridge must not be sealing correctly and he would send me 3 new cartridges, it's been 2 months, we never got any new carts from this store.
The resetter came with the 3800 refillable cartridges sytem is a little clumbsy to use and it only worked two or three times, then we cannot reset any cartridges anymore, by the way, it cost use almost 50 dollars to buy the resetter. The refilling procedure is big pain too. We now totally trash this system.

So we are eager to try out a "good" 3800 refilable ink system as we had very bad experience with such refillable cart and we have 3 Epson 3800’s.
We just can’t keep up with the costs of the cartridges and we dont want to buy the similar refillable cartridges.

I think there are other 3800 refillable cartridges or CIS too if you google it.

the one from does not require you use any resetter and the bigger cartridges look very solid.

resetting ink level looks easy and the refilling is a breeze too if you look at the installation page ... ll-faq.asp

i hope this helps.
