CIS problems for Epson stylus PHOTO R240

I have purchased a CIS from e-bay. Have emailed the guy from Hong Kong and is not very helpful. The inks are emptying without being used! I haven't got a pool of ink on the desk and there seems to be none at the bottom of the printer when I shine a torch down. I know this conversation has taken place on CIS before, so those who are in the know could they please assist?
In fact the cyan emptied in less that 48 hours.
