I have read all the technological differences between Dye Sub vs InkJet. However, I thought I'd ask youz, my collegues, whom I trust.

Should I get a Dye or and InkJet? I'd like to print my small orders from home (40 prints or less, 4X6).

I'd also like to be able to carry it around some times. I don't know how often I have been to an event when I wanted to kick myself beacuse I did not have a printer or forgot my business card.

I currently own a Canon iP5000.

Thanks.

From what you've stated, I would probably go for a dye sub printer. If you're going to take the printer to events, dye sub prints are a little more durable if you're selling the prints on the spot and people are walking around with them. Pigment based inkjet prints are good for longevity and pretty waterfast, but not as good as dye sub in waterfastness. Also, you sound to be a low volume printer and pigmented printers tend to clog more when they aren't run constantly, which in the end run will up your print costs.

Hope this helps.
