I believe you can.
InkRepublic's system allows you fill with any kind of ink.
I dont see any problem with that.

Most Ebay CIS is made in China which copy the design from Epson with so much lower quality.

Their cost is about 2 dollars for entire system. plus ink, it's abou 10 dollars. but they are selling about 30 USD - 80 USD. very good profit.

HOWEVER, I strongly suggest not to take any risk to buy Chinese CIS system. it's pain in the butt. you are wasting your $$$ and you will damage your printer.

With this type of bulk in kit, you can flush out your ink and fill whatever ink you want.
Also, is inkrepublic.com the only company that makes R1800 bulk ink kit?
Does anyone else know any other source?
I checked Ebay but don't have the faith to buy it.

I think the reason why Chinese CIS would cause clogging head is because of the cheap tubes , air bubbles and filter.

you get what you pay for, no complain.

I think you guys can be more elaborate on the difference of InkRepublic's system and cheap Chinese system?

By reading authentic reviews on its site, I know InkRepublic.com's system is good enough to try, but there are several CIS systems on ebay, what's the difference among them? why InkRepublic's system is the BEST ?

How do they avoid clogging problem? why Chinese system can lead clog?

Even Epson suggest user to print something to avoid clogging, is that for real?

CISs will only save money on ink if you use a fair amount of it, since
the inks tend to go bad is they sit around. Curing a clog is much more
complex with a CIS installed, BTW. I may not be as expert as you all, the CIS system I have tried is brought from China when I visited HK last year.
It did clog the print nozzle hence I gave it up.

I believe if you guys can describe the advantage of InkRepublic's system over others, many people here will buy CISS from IR.

just a piece of my thought!

clog problem most happened because of bad ink, not system problem.
the ink we suggest is USA Formulabs.

chinese continuous ink system clog printer.

The clogging problem is caused by spnoge, bad ink, bad filter, air comes in into cis cartridge. These are all common problem of Chinese Continuous ink system CISS. No exception. Simple as that, because Chinese do not have flow control cartridge. They use ink bottle to control ink flow. This leads air come in tubes and clog the print head easily.

If you use Chinese CISS, like echostore or cutemaker, you will not get any support and will just damage your printer within few months. Again, no exception.

Besides, look at Ebay list, somebody are listing $4.00 for whole ciss system from China. well....if I were you, I would not even bother.

Stay with something like inkrepublic spongeless damper design is much better choice if your are a critical user, like print photo or CD/DVD covers.

CIS Systems for R1800 / R2400 and Lyson Inks

Post Thu Sep 15, 2005 4:12 pm

A friend of mine directed me to http://www.specialistinks.com and after calling them it seems like they will have the CIS system that will work with Lyson inks very shortly, they have also put a form allowing users to register and buy at a discount when there are ready to ship.

please do not blame on chinese. I know they are trying very hard to sell system here. The problem is, their system can not meet up your requirement. I have tried it. same system on ebay. piece of crap.

Used the R1800 Ink Republic system Ink/CIS for 6 months. Have had frequent clogging problems and these were only finally fixed by reinstalling OEM cartridges
Replacement Ink from Ink Republic was sent from Johnli City Taiwan NOT USA as I have read! Poor quality output on glossy media, nowhere near the OEM quality. OK on EAM. I have had poor after sales service from Ink Republic :x
NO responses to Emails when the nozzles blocked and unable to be cleared. I'm going back to using MIS R1800 ink.

I have no problem with their system or service whatsoever... perhaps your email was blocked by their spam filter?

Ink Republic CIS for R2400

Post Sun Oct 30, 2005 5:42 pm

In the past three weeks I have attempted to reach them by phone and e-mail countless times. There has been no response despite my many attempts and leaving strong messages. I think this is a one person operation and that it might have closed down. I am giving up and will go to Media
Street. Sondra :x

Looks like a good system but it's quite a bit more expensive than the IR system and inks; $310.00 vs $184.00 for the IR inks!
