I plan to save some money and do my own senior pictures of my daughter.
Any ideas or tips on creative aspects or how to get them to not look like they were printed at Walgreens (no offense!) would be appreciated.
I have lots of ideas in my head..... a new digital SLR and my friend also offered to help as well.
My daughter has to use one of the pro comps on the list for the yr book photo so we'll go ahead and do that.

ok I guess I was just hoping to get some tips from someone who has done it before....esp. printing tips.
I have not done the photos yet.

Use a solid background. if you use a bedsheet, make sure it is a dark color, wrinkle free, and clean. You will get the best results if you mostly light from the side instead of straight on. Use two or three lights. Try to get some highlights. Watch out for washing out your subject with too much light straight on. Use a hair light. Try to use a studio lighting setup or sunlight coming through a northern window. Use late afternoon light, or early morning light. Don't use on camera flash.
