Up till now I have been using ROE's online ordering and using their templets.

Is Photoshop Elements a professional way to go? Or is there something better?

It depends what you are doing, but if you consider your requirements to be 'professional' software then Adobe Photoshop CS3 is more likely your requirement, or a cheaper option being Adobe Lightroom. As you're asking the question it may suggest that Elements will suit your needs, or at least get you going until you decide what you need. With any of the software I would highly recommend buying a tutorial book to make sure you get the most from it.
