flower cropping

I just posted some new spring flower images and am curious as to what people think of some of the cropping... comments welcome, thanks!

My 2cts:
I like the first crop, except the bright spots in background are a little distracting. The flowers could use some Unsharp Mask.
The second photo doesn't work for me. Perhaps you could also crop out the empty space at the top left.

Thanks, here's a cropped version of the crocus image. I sort of liked it with the excess background but I haven't put them side by side yet, so maybe I'll change my mind once I take a proper look. As for the other, could you explain how unsharp mask works a little bit? I fiddled with it but I'm not sure what you were suggesting I try with it...
Thanks!

I think it would work better if you singled out just the one crocus on the left
Beautiful color
