Didn't know quite where to put this post.

I know nothing about copyrighting an image i have taken, so iask this question:

If i put somewhere on my image a (c) symbol and my name, does that copyright it to me automatically? or is there something else i would have to do to copyright my images?

I have only posted one picture so far and am at the very beginning of my photography hobby and I dont believe i need to copyright anything yet, but though I should ask

Thanks in advance

You own copyright in any image the moment to take the photograph. You do not have to embed any copyright symbol in the image but I believe its a good idea (especially on PBase where image theft is endemic).
Here is a link to copyright laws in the UK

http://www.copyrightservice.co.uk/copyr ... yright_law

In the US its a bit different in that you should register your images with their Copyright office.

I should add that you should upload low res images to your gallery (maximum 800 pixels at longest). This can be a deterrent to those who want to download your work illegally.
