canvas printing at home...

Post Tue Nov 13, 2007 5:19 pm

I have recently started getting offers from people to buy my photos (an amazing feeling) and some people are requesting canvas prints.
I have an A3 epson inkjet printer and i was wondering if there is any way to print on canvas with my printer? or does it require some kind of specialized equipment (ie going to a special printing shop and having them doing it for you, but they are often quite pricey.
any info would be much appreciated.
cheers

You can buy canvas paper in large sizes. Fredrix is a brand I have used with my Canon 9900.

I bought it at a local art supply place. IRC Amazon carries it also. I think they will give you some samples if you fill out the form on their web page.

Mounting is still a little rough since if you wrap the canvas you lose size. I have wrapped with good results and spray mounted some pictures on an existing canvas with OK results (It looked better when I painted the edges). I use a spray coat for UV protection and to make it look a little more painting like.

Good luck
