Rebel XTi Bracketing help!

Post Wed Oct 24, 2007 12:26 am

Hello, ive just been told about a new program that i can use that puts three pictures together to make the exposures better. i was told to use bracketing, but when i try with my canon digital rebel XTi, i only get one picture. i go to the second menu select AEB and change the amount. i take the picture and i only get one picture out of it instead of three. can anyone help me?

I own the older 300, and 350 D's and assume it's going to be similar. The reason is, you'll need to take 3 exposures. When you shoot, you should see the exposure compensation change with each shot while looking through the viewfinder. That is, if you've not only selected AEB, but you'll also need to set the amount it adjusts for each shot. You should easily find the directions in your users manual.
Good luck, and enjoy.

after setting AEB you then put the camera in to multi shot (motor drive) now instead of single shot, pressing the shutter should take exactly three shots in a row.

(assuming the 400D works the same as other EOS DSLR's)
there is no .sig

Additionally, two great programs to use are:

Photomatix http://www.hdrsoft.com/

and Dynamic Photo HDR http://www.mediachance.com/hdri/index.html
Canon EOS 5D | Canon EOS 3 | Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM | Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM | Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM | Canon EF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM | Sigma 70mm f/2.8 EX DG Macro

I have the model BEFORE it (XT) and there is a feature in your manual
that tells you how to set it for THREE automatically bracketed exposures

One slower, one felt to be right, one faster.

You press once and it does three versions.

I tried it twice and it's pretty amazing. But I don't use it much so would
have to go to the manual to find out how to use it again.
