What would be the camera setting for a Bright beach wedding

Post Fri Sep 14, 2007 6:30 pm

I will be shooting a bright beach wedding at high noon. The couple is a mixed couple. One light skinned the other dark skinned. She will be wearing a white wedding dress. And I will be using a flash for fill light. And there will be a lot of movement. Like them running on the beach.

What do you think my settings should be.

iso -? Shutter speed? Aperture?????

Camera 30d Flash 580ex speedlite

I really apprieciate any help on this.

Thank you

Anthony

well if it's bright sunshine then stick it on your lowest iso - 100?
If you're planning on using flash then bang it up to f11/f12 & fairly slow shutter speed - 1/25th?
Other than that if it was me I'd not worry about flash but make sure I shot them in the shade, sun behind then & them looking into a brightly lit area such as sky. This will ensure that their skin is beautifully lit & there's a good catchment in their eyes. Persoanlly I'd opt for a reflector over flash every time. Try getting two reflectors - one either side of the couple as this will help with hilighting the dark skin too.
With bright sunlight you should be looking for iso 100 and a high shutter speed but there's no hard & fast rule.

good luck

But I am doing 1 hour wedding mostly on the beach. No time for too much set up.

You can take a look at the shots that I have taken. They are good.

iso 400 mostly
