laptop monitor gamma settings

Hey gang....can anyone help me out getting my gamma settings corrected? I have a Sony Vaio laptop. I got a colorvision spyder and it seems like it only got worse!..my post look terrible because i am scanning in photoshop elements and...and my scans look good in elements ...but terrrible in my gallery. they come out so different when I check online??I don't want to post anymore until I get this straightened out .....!

Make sure you're saving in sRGB workspace and not Adobe RGB workspace.
