Outdoor Portrait HELP!

Post Mon Aug 06, 2007 6:16 pm

I have a family portrait coming up soon and just wanted to run by some questions to everyone.

It is a family of 5 that I will be photographing at the park.

Should I meter the background for exposure and then use my 3 flash units to bring up the area where the family will be sitting?

What is the correct lighting / exposure steps for shooting a family portrait outdoors? Any tips please.

My gear...
Canon 20D
24-105 f/4L IS lens
580EX, two SB-26
ST-E2 & 4-channel ebay triggers
Reflectors
Tripod, cable release, light meter

Thank you all for your advice

You might distill some of your question from looking at their works.
They had to study this subjet for a while. you owe yourself some serious study. There are several good shools of of photography in your area. why not grab a class?

That's not what you wanted to read, but its best for you to solve this by study and observation.

good luck
