To my dear Pbase challenge partners,

I'm sorry that I wasn't able to join the Movie challenge this month. My old father has been quite ill for the past two months. Last night, he died.
I will miss my father, we were close. But it was his time. He was 85 and my wish was answered because he went painless and peaceful.
I'm sad, but I'm a very practical person who doesn't mourn. I remember and move forward.

'My dad taught me photography. In 1970, he gave me my first 35mm slr, a Petri FTEE. He was a big Rail Fan, and we would often go on road-trips to photograph certain trains. We actually trespassed (and one time got arrested) to get good shots in rail yards. Sometimes we crawled on the ground to get under a fence. Of course those were simpler times before 9/11. Today, the security at rail yards is much tighter and the penalty for trespassing is high because of terrorism.

Anyway, I hope to join you in July. Don't feel sorry for me. Go hug your own father, or someone else you love, instead.
Lynn

Gordon Gekko is a fictional character, the main antagonist of the 1987 film Wall Street and the antihero of its 2010 sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, both directed by Oliver Stone.
