Weekly Informal Challenge number 127 is "Be Different"

Step outside of your "normal box" (whatever that is). Find an off-beat and different way to shoot this week for the challenge. Maybe an unfamiliar or unusual capture tool/camera. Perhaps a different way to look at or shoot a familiar subject. It might even be something you've always wanted to shoot but never had the courage or took the time to shoot. Just be different and remember HAVE FUN!

In had some time in my truck waiting to try some experimentation so I'll kick off the "Different" week. I wanted to take, process for graphic effects and present a montage (the Andy W. 4 squared came about as I started experimenting) all with my phone and phone camera. The two apps used to create this were (1)Instagram and then (2) Little Photo. I hope everyone has fun being different this weekend.

There isn't much I don't shoot. Shoot well is another subject. :) However, this photo is something I have never shot and there is probably a reason for that. Maybe comfort zones are good things. :)

1) Photos of cars is definitely very different for me

2) I seldom ever use a wide angle lens

3) Extremely low POV is also something different

I was very much out of my comfort zone for this one but I do like how it turned out!

in the past 11 years, my camera and I have done so much.. what is different to me?
Super hard question! So, I thought well to be different I'd have to put the camera down and take a photo of IT because IT has taken everything I can think of almost :) Took this one last night, as I got to the football game earlier than I needed to!

I don't use this lens very often; I seldom shoot people; I shoot tiny people even less often; and it's a different point of view:

I also rarely shoot people or moving objects in low light. But, how could I pass this capture by?

This weekend, I photographed the grand opening of a new emergency animal shelter. This took me way out of my comfort zone since it was my first effort at "event photography" that I did for someone other than myself. In addition, I needed to photograph people (uncomfortable hurl), and shoot with a flash to fill shadows where needed (still learning).

I've created a gallery of my favorite shots here:

And I selected this shot as my submission for this weeks challenge. I especially like this shot due to the light and the manner in which I needed to use to get this point of view. It's a bit different than your average cake shots.
