Weekly Challenge: "My Special Place"

We all have a Special Place we like to go to, where we can feel relaxed or see excitement, be alone or be with friends, see lots of action or none at all, enjoy a view, or a meal, or...Show us a place that you think is special and tell us about it in your caption.


A few simple rules:

1. Themes are posted on Fridays to give you the weekend to come up with a FRESH shot for the challenge to post through Monday.

2. This is about interaction, learning, being challenged and having fun so... HAVE FUN!

3. The themes are specific but interpretations are broad. Stay on theme but PLEASE feel free to think outside the box.

4. Look at others' submissions, comment as moved to do so and offer supportive and constructive feedback. Please don't just post for exposure. Look and at least comment on some.

5. Did we already mention: HAVE FUN!!!

Sounds like fun!! I will have to get extra creative because I will be traveling over the next 3 days and won't be in familiar territory. And... the airport isn't my special place. LOL

My special place is the beach (I live a little more than a mile from the Atlantic Ocean). Here are 2 different photos showing how weather affects your experience of the view. I have to confess that one of these was taken 2 weeks ago.

My favorite and special place is, of course, Brush Creek State Park. I like to hike off trail on my way to the waterfalls. I go early before anyone else is there.

I have several special places, but I really like the Lily Pond in Balboa Park. I've taken many photographs here, in the day time, at night, at dusk and at dawn. I've brought many people here and I've been here many times alone. Today while on a walk we passed by and I took this photo.

...where the river Moselle meets the river Rhine known as the "German corner", with the giant equestrian statue of Kaiser Wilhelm I, bearing an inscription quoting a German poem: "Nimmer wird das Reich zerstöret, wenn ihr einig seid und treu" (Never will the Empire be destroyed, so long as you are united and loyal).
