MAY challenge.. ideas anyone?

May is a week away and for some reason I'm finding myself wondering what we'll do next month.
I have no ideas but .. bet you do! Anyone thinking about ideas for next month yet?

How about "31 Places to spend your Money": Shops, Restaurants, Open Air Markets, Gas stations, Shopping Centers, Super Markets, etc. With a internationally diverse group a great variety of images could be posted.

that would for sure bring interesting images! I would enjoy seeing shops from around the world and even my own country since I haven't traveled much!

It sounds like a great idea. However, there are those of us who live in rural areas where the nearest town has very few stores and rolls up the sidewalks at 9:00 pm. And as for the "big" town, I avoid it except for once a week and on Sundays when everything is closed and the streets are empty. Plus this is a beautiful time of year to go into the woods and commune with nature. I'm not a shopper. I'm a hiker. So I'll have to take a pass. But I will really look forward to seeing what everyone else comes up with. "Now we even got Starbucks. What else you need?" That describes where I live. :)

Out of Place...something that is out of place or an item used other than how the manufacturer intended ie finding potholders in a Gyn office.
Not sure if Occupations have been used or Enjoyment Outside of Work...what we do outside of work such as hobbies, sports, volunteering, cleaning...etc.

I would like to say I really like Walter's suggestion. Just because it doesn't fit my lifestyle doesn't mean everyone has to now come up with new suggestions. It's not about me. I would love to see the photos other people get with this topic so I'm voting for it even if I don't participate.

I like Walter's idea too. I will not be able to make it a PaD because I will have to drive to the shopping district and I can't do that every day. So perhaps I'll take a bunch of photos on one day and then post them one at a time for the challenge.

Karen, perhaps you can take photos of "things" we spend our money on, instead of shops... it could be cars, houses, perfume, books, yard art... just a thought.

Hmmm shopping, I live in north america.... no nice shopping photos possible here. I shop at night, so if you like black photos with a few lights..fine. Even our tourist areas, at this time of the year are closed and cold. Almost all stores have the no camera signs, and even outside shopping malls, ahave security guards that advise you, photos are not allowed for trademark and commercial reasons .

How about ........ hmmmm.......

Make "my smile-a-day"!

Something that can make me smile, even laugh.
A pet, a child, a funny graffitti, a funny object, a bumper sticker .etc.
Even a laughing situation on the street, in the house , at work.
Preferably a stand alone, but if there is a story to go with it, we want to hear it, we want to smile.
So lets have a ball... I mean a smile, and why not a few good humored tears.

31 places to spend is a great idea BUT for me, well, I'd have to admire others' posts - our nearest (singular) shop is seven miles away so I would struggle! However, I'm happy to carry on with a PAD in May and rejoin the Monthly Challenge in June.

I still love the shopping idea Laryl and I'm betting there will be a few more Pbasers who will jump onto the bandwagon.

For you lucky people who live a distance from a store, why not take a series of images on those occasional trips that you do make into town? Or, look inside your pantry, closet, fridge and do some macro images of some of the goodies found in there. You could photograph clothing labels, packaging, boxes, newspaper circulars, on-line shopping sites, the garden veggie plants that many of us are purchasing this month, etc. Everything in your home and garden were purchased items at one time or another... Think outside the box ~ your imagination is limitless!
