Driving around this area I have found some gates I will go back and photograph, but I plan to look further afield in the older parts of Auckland and get some good old ones!! The older and more decrepit the better - well, I hope so...
Looking forward to the challenge

Yes, Walter..this is true, but I mentioned the streets where I lived, my community back then, Laguna Niguel! I know there´s also San Juan Capistrano, San Clemente near by, where more hispanics live.

Ok, that has been 1990-95! Might have changed too lately!

Cheers

Arab-, African-, Asian cultures in your community!

I got the idea from Adamo.....I love his music!

See his video and my picture from December: http://www.pbase.com/borisalex/image/131351766

Merry Christmas, Buon Natale, Feliz Navidad, Frohe Weihnachten, أجمل التهاني بمناسبة الميلاد و حلول السنة الجديدة, 聖誕節同新年快樂

Maybe we need less "gated" communities!!!

Happy New Year!
Boris

My point for this challenge was to include different cultures in your life! How do you approach, connect and have experiences with people form different cultures! Like eyeryone has to go to the supermarket, where you meet all people, I especially loved to go there at midnights! Being in the hospitality industry..no wonder! I loved to get a cup of coffee at the gasstation and to talk to the clerk. I loved absolutely mexican places for lunch and to go for breakfast to a bagles place! Also liked so much reading my sunday newspaper at waffle house for breakfast and the list goes on and on! Life can be beautiful in the USA!!

I love to be with and talk to people! The one I could less talk too, where the one with Rolexes and Jaguars! But I loved to talk to Alba from Guatemala, Pedro from Mexiko, Priya from India and many many more.

So idea of this challenge was "your life including your neighbor"!!

We can do it another month!

Cheers
Boris
PS. I love the late Movie from Clint Eastwood " Gran torino"!! This is exactly what I mean with the idea of this challenge!! Has anyone seen that movie, great story and recommended!!

Hello Boris and All Friends,

To my humble opinion, at this season, Doors is a perfect theme
to GO OUT the past year and GO IN the New YEAR.
For me I do prefer this idea, for this time.

The Boris's idea is great too about cultural meetings and we can keep it for a next month.

I still have some doors pictures from today... :)

Cheers to all !

I'm confused. What is the January challenge? Is it doors, gates, portals, entrances?

I'm doing Gates and Gateways. Doors are gateways. Like with all the past challenges, there is some liberty for interpretation.
