PBasers on the Prowl in Patterdale?

Post Wed Jul 21, 2010 10:39 pm

Well, only Patterdale 'cos of the 'P' :)

Anyway, not that I'm any good at organising stuff - but a PBasing weekend in the (English) Lake District has been sort of suggested for the Autumn - Sep/Oct sort of time. Anyone up for it? No idea about dates/times/places/food/drink/anything - except it'll probably chuck it down right up to the very last hour when everyone's pootling off home.

So - any suggestions (clean ones only please) for available dates/places/things - post 'em here. Anyone more competent than me* wanting to volunteer organising things is more than welcome too!! :P

*My idea of planning/organising is pretty much limited to posting this 'ere message wot you may or may not be reading

--------------

Good idea Nicky! Well, here 'tis... (up there ^ ) That's me completely organised out now! :D

Count me in as long as there is nothing else going on family wise (ie somebody hurry up with a date so I can put it on the calander). We will all need a camdom like Phils and an alarm clock for the early sunrise shots... :D

Oh I would looooove to "do" the Lake District.... why don't you do a forum poll on weekend dates in Sept/Oct then the most voted date wins?

I'm away for some of early-ish October, but pencil me (and most probably the lad) in!

I've edited the original post and stuck a poll onto it as Nicky suggested. Seems Nicky is a very organised type.....

Is there a wet weather alternative? Like a pub with countless mirrors?

Err, Ray - this is the Lake District - raining is what it does! Ah, you weren't at Matlock or Weardale, were you?
I dunno - there're lots of little towns and pubs/tea/coffee shops we could invade I s'pose.

Sounds good, September weekends are normaly dry, there, I have guaranteed rain with that one statement :D .

I'm up for it on any of the later September dates. I'm not going to vote because work may get in the way so I'm best falling into line with the rest.

For the Lakes ,Keswick is always the best rain option in my opinion , it has a car museum, pencil museum and a one full of optical illusions, Oh and lots and lots of pubs. Its a short walk to the lake and ferry and a slightly longer walk to Castlerigg stone circle or even Catbells if anyone is feeling fit. Having said that its a little too Urban by lake district standards.

Hope I'm helping here and not just confusing things further :D
