Another Rip Off Site

I love Pbase, the format and the community developed here. I am concerned because Pixdaus.com has a large number of images copied from PBase galleries posted on their site. In some instances the photographer is named, in others the pictures are posted with no name at all. I have informed several PBasers about the display of their work but there is much more there and there is even mention of going to PBase to find photos. My photos were removed after I sent a take down notice but new photos are added daily and there is a "Friends" network that links to Pixdaus and the photos are not removed from it.

Believe or not, these people are stealing photos, posting them and getting votes on them. I can't imagine why anyone would get any pleasure in taking credit for other people's work.

You may want to look at this site and send a take down notice. I've found my photos by searching for my name and my favorite subjects or places.

I've not found any of mine but they are blatantly taking other photographers' work - a lot of it from Deviant Art - some of the photographers have already noticed and commented on the fact the pics have been stolen - see "comments" at the bottom of the page: http://www.pixdaus.com/?fun=2&name=Tone

This is truly pathetic. Not only are they stolen images, but people are requesting sales prices, and permission to display this guys "art". Sad. Not so much the this fella likes to see good work, rather the rest of the ignorant boobs can't see that this is not his work.

I was appalled to see Sylvan Learning and National Geographic advertising on this site. Sylvan Learning because of the pornography front and National Geographic because I've respected it and the photographers who work there. I contacted both but I doubt one email will have much impact.
