Many thumbnails and photos gone

I woke up this morning to find many (20%) of my thumbnails and photos missing from my pbase galleries. Seems that some sort of database crash occurred and ... voila ... damage done. Now I'm having to spend hours re-uploading 100's of photos to try and put humpty dumpty back together again. Not sure if anyone else has experienced this or not ... or if there is any other way to repair the galleries more quickly.

I'm assuming since slug and emily have posted on the main page that they are working on it, that when they fix it the photos WILL be there when all is said and done and I don't have to re-upload.

Am I assuming too much?
