Oh this is so exciting (that's what I get for going away for a while~~I've missed so much!!)!!!

Anywho....I am Stephanie. Fernticled is a nickname I've used a lot, and it means covered in freckles for those of you who are scratching your head and saying fern-ti-what???

I started PaD in late January, but stopped recently because of life, but I'm hoping to post lots more now. I've missed it (once it is in the blood it stays I'm tellin' ya!!)

You can see my photos at http://www.pbase.com/fernticled/photo_a_day

Hi! I am Sam from Hong Kong. This is the gallery my wife (Wing) and I prepared together:

http://www.pbase.com/msliwing/picture_a_day_hong_kong

Why is our gallery called "msliwing"? It's simply because this is the short form of "Miss LI Wing". "LI" is Wing's last name.

Have a nice day!!

Sam

At it since July 26, 2003, after seeing Paul Walters' work

I'm both inspired and daunted by the consistently wonderful work of the PADers. I wish I had more time to browse and comment![/url]

Hi my name is jude - aka judith jean if you are my mother. "Bango" still is bandied about by my sis due to a self-inflicted haircut on a boring day in the 12th year of my life.

The 53 has to do with ... um... well.. being only ... er ... 32 (cough cough) .. i oft times think how lovely it would be to have been born in 1953?

This is my second day here. Been meaning to start for a couple weeks now, but....I'm lazy =)

My site is auriga, because that's been one of my internet names for years. I'm an Astronomy nut, and I always loved the constellation Auriga though my real name is Megan Setter. Here's my gallery, on day 2

I'm Franziska Lang and my pbase home is called http://www.pbase.com/franziskalang/pad Not much imagination there, I guess. Anyhow, I had been lurking around for a while watching people's PADs in amazement before I started. My first attempt wasn't so successful, my camer broke within 2 weeks so then I was out for six weeks and started again in late January.

I've been addicted to photography ever since I got a digital camera but for a while there my motivation to go out and take pictures was waning, that was the primary reason for my to start the PAD - working my way through those "I gotta try these one day" and "This would make a good photo" lists that I have in my mind.

Since there was that heated discussion in the other thread about rules, etc, here are mine:

1. First and foremost, the photo has to be taken today. No substitutes.
2. All editing is allowed, but in reality, quite a few photos are just "autocorrected" in Paintshop Pro.
3. Stick with it for a year.

Little did I know what a wonderful community I was getting myself into. PAD's already become a huge part of my daily routine! Thank you guys!

Well...I've been enjoying posting and viewing on pbase for a few months and just decided a few weeks ago to go for the PaD. Mainly for the dicipline and the push to experiment. I, like everyone, have days where it all seems easy and there seem to be a lot of choices for a PaD.....but there are more days where its a challenge to come up w. something creative.
My name is the same as my url....www.pbase.com/lhaskins/pad, nothing to original there, Lol. And, like Fransiska I have a few rules for myself. Including an original posting per day. Just works best for me that way. Having said that its 6pm and I've got no idea what to shoot and the light just went. And, I'm not much for shooting w. flash.
Ah well....time to experiment. The support and encouragement on pbase is a fantastic incentive...thanks everyone!
Cheers, Lisa

Rob T as http://www.pbase.com/Rash

It's a long story.

I've had to slow down as of late due to school work and the baby. I should pick up soon.

I this is Robin Reid, and my PaD is http://www.pbase.com/rtwo/mypad. I joined this crazy project a little over a week ago.

I think this will help me sharpen my eye on what makes a good photograph and what do I see every day that can be a subject!

Digital cameras have reignited by passion for creating images. I do hope folks will give me good honest feedback when you take the time to go to my site.

Lots of luck to all.
Robin

I'm not sure if anyone will read this far down, but I'm Paul Walters. Started this whole thing when there was no one else (that I knew of). After quite a few people started joining me, I found a couple "Photo Diary" people out there that started before me, and I think there's one guy that was doing the Photo a Day for the sake of the Photo.

My idea was to take a Picture a Day for a Year with the end goal being to have a 20"x30" montage at the end of the year with all the pictures on it. It is an amazing learning experience, and has become quite popular!

I only have 9 weekends left, and I've finished off my Year of a Picture a Day. I haven't missed a day, and have been very strict as far as only using pictures taken DURING the 24 hours of that day. It's been fun, but I'm looking forward to the end! :)

I hope you all enjoy the PaD experience!

Paul W. Walters
