Hello PADers!

Post Sun Jun 10, 2007 2:47 pm

Just figured this would be a good way of getting to know the current PAD gang, check to see who's here and if there's anyone that I know that's still pading.

I've just started my second PAD project (1 whole photo uploaded) and I'm thrilled to be doing this again, those who remember me from before (hello) already know that this is going to be a large post since once I get started I just wont stop, the rest... you have been warned!

What I'm hoping to get this time around is some constructive comments (once I get more photo's up) while the "Oh what a cute puppy" or "I want those shoes" comments are always (in fact I love em) I find that some constructive criticism is what was missing from my first attempt a couple of years back, so lay it on me .. you'll find I can take it!

Oh, final thing, I usually get some sort of weird comment to go with my photos, some like it, some loathe it, either way... it's not going away... (warned again)

PS. No cameras were hurt while making this post!

welcome back, Pol!
Of the the 'gang' you once knew, there are probably a handful of us left . . .JHR is one, David and Linda are still here, and Adal . . .Ray is a PBase moderator . . . jude mc and Dan Chusid . . . I can't think of who else. But as long as your PaD picture goes up in the PaD meta gallery, it is likely that we 'oldtimers' will find you again

Again . . .welcome back to fray

Hi Poly

It is indeed good to see you back!

Other oldtimers who post here regularly are Robin Reid, Ron Lutz, Tine Verheyden, Gary Blanchette, Faye White, Paul Walters, Jill and Steve Roden. Some PADers now do a PESO which stands for a Picture Every So Often.

I have added you back on my favourites list and by clicking on that in my profile you can check some of the other talent.

Hello PADers - Anything Goes - Its a Mixed Bag

Post Mon Jun 11, 2007 6:10 pm

Hi Pol. I am not 100% sure what the purpose of your post is, but.... I like it... I read it as an "anything goes ... who is ... what is.... PADing these days" kind of post. And that's great. It gives me a chance, as you opened the door, to let folks know that PADing to me is a mixed bag.... and that is what my PAD gallery is all about:

A Mixed Bag of Bugs, Borscht and Bupkas

The photos from this gallery are necessarily my best photos, but the ones I find personally interesting, mainly to myself. They may be flawed and they may not be pretty, but I have a reason to like each one of them. These photos are not my pride, but they are my personality. Maybe you will like one or a few of them yourself.

Best regards to all, Michael

Michael,

By looking at Poly's galleries you will see that he undertook a "real" PAD back in 2004, and his post indicates that he is going to have another go.

I enjoyed Poly's work back then and it's great to see him back.

I'm still here too (from 2003, minus a few lost months while changing galleries around)

Hey Pol.

I have not seen your galleries before, (I'm doing PAD just from 2005), but went so see them and decided to add you to list of favs. I was looking for same thing that you do, critique comments, and will be glad to comment on you work. May be you and others will be able to do same for me. In fact I was joining to several initiatives about getting better comments on Pbase in the past. Unfortunately they all went away after some time. May be this time will be different.

Happy shooting
Michael.

There were 2 purposes behind the post really, the primary one was that I was thinking of starting a PAD project again but couldn't take that first step because I kept thinking that I am really short on time these days, making a post like this on a day when it felt like I might pull it off was my "binding contract" to start and finish! (Plus it's always nice to know you're not the insane one that does it twice!)

The second one was that social aspect of my PADing experience the first time around was delightful, so I figured I'd check who was still here (never really got into the favorites part)

It's nice to see so many die-hard PAD fans, I had a lot of fun doing the 1st project and now that the 2nd one is a good 10days in process it's getting easier to find new PADers to steal ideas from *evil grin*

Anyway, I'll go back to being quiet and shooting stuff now...
