New PBase RSS Feed Anounced

Post Fri Jun 08, 2007 12:27 am

Chris has posted a message saying the new feed is here:
http://forum.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?t=31292

To make it easy, I've manually installed the photo feed on my site, and I'm waiting to see if it's working properly. The code I used is below. You'll need to add your user name in place of mine. Also, I'd suggest making a small RSS button similar, place it into a hidden gallery and using it instead. The one I'm using now is going to be replaced, and you'll find it's missing if it's not changed. Chris also makes note that the feed will be automatically detected in browsers which support it. So get all the details in the above link, and it may not be necessary to do anything. I've already subscribed to my recent updates, and to recent comments, and both are feeding to "My Yahoo" great.

Just to clarify, the autodetect code is not yet in place. When it is, your browser should display an orange RSS icon somewhere in the toolbar that you can click to subscribe to the feed.

As dang says, it's not a bad idea to use an image link to publicize the feed to viewers using browsers that are not feed-aware. Feel free to use the standard feed icon that we are hosting:

These files are also available in .gif format.
