We've all been there

It was one of those weeks. Some slide film had mysteriously been lost in the mail. That was bad. It showed up at my house without the processor ever locating it. That was good. But, one roll had some damage by the processor. That was bad. Another roll of film I took to a local processor had damage done by me (I forgot to reset the count on the F-1 winder). That was bad. It was only at the end of the roll where I was just basically running the film out. That was good.

I totally screwed the processing on one roll of black and white here at home because I was talking on the phone while doing it and............I don't think I was multi tasking very well. That was bad. I found some film that had been exposed for 18.5 years and it developed well. That was good.

A CF card died on me. We managed to get some of the images off of it. But, some went to the garbage dump with it. It had given me a couple of problems before and I should have disposed of it already, but in the interest of being frugal I kept it. Unfortunately it was the only card I had with me one day. My bad. I'll just have to redo that trip to reshoot. But, I got almost 20,000 images off of it over a year. Not bad.

I was about to send some photos via the internet for processing when suddenly about half of them were totally unreadable. That was bad, Since they were wedding photos I could have been in trouble but I had followed the advice of several of you here and backed them up on multiple media so it was just a minor inconvenience. That was good.

I dropped an L lens from about 3 feet onto a hardwood floor. Very bad.
It still works perfectly. That was very very good. I think I'm going to take a day or two off from photography. :-)

Last month, I dropped my entire DCS760 pro camera when I was shooting with it and my Canon and got confused with which one was on my neck strap. I moved it to my chest and just let go- it went straight to the floor. The battery door came off and the RF shoe for the studio lights came apart- but I got everything back together and it all works.

Never lost a card yet- that would suck.

My husband went to a photo workshop.

1. Second night he got food poisoning. Missed an evening and morning session.

2. Left his camera bag with his zone plate lens and camera manual on a table and it was gone when he thought to go back.

3. A tripod fell on his Canon D5 LCD screen in the trunk of a car and shattered it.

BUT, the camera still works. Today he got his zone plate lens replacement. Guess he is about to recover from the workshop.--Rene
