Editing Chroma Key photographs

Post Wed Apr 12, 2006 2:25 am

Does anyone know how to remove the chroma key layer when using digital backdrops? What I have been doing is using the magic wand to isolate the green, then delete the green to reveal my digital backdrop. However, I was in Niagara Falls on the weekend and I saw someone using a different technique. I believe that they may have been using a mask in Photo Shop yet I cannot figure out how they did it. It looked very quick and had amazing results.

If anyone can advise me on a different technique it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance,

Sandy Barbour

sandy

How about use color range (in PS: under select, colorrange.......)
you can choose the fuzziness.
And select (in the image_ what color you want to be selected)
And at the bottum you can choose if you want to use a quick mask

good luck

Third Party Keyer

If you do lot of Keying, you want to look into a third party plug in for Photoshop.

I use Digital Anarchy (demo here: http://www.digitalanarchy.com/downloads/demos_main.html).

It's very easy to use, very accurate, a certainly helpful in funny situations such as green/blue cast on hair etc.

It should have been called Chroma magic.
