Of course, not all of those are actually PAD shots. When I have checked the pages regularly during a day, sometimes I come accross someone uploading the same picture about every 4 hours. There seems to be some that just stick their favorite photo in every so often.
I know there are no firm guidelines- and I know some people can't get out and shoot anymore because of their health. For them, getting their pictures from years ago is a way to still participate in photograpy, and I think that is great. It seemed the intent of PAD though was to keep work fresh and fresh images coming. I know sometimes some of us have job responsibilities that don't allow daily shooting, but usually it is recent work they put out, and I think that is fine also. To just pick an old photo to put out to try to get hits to a site isn't exactly in the spirit- at least in my mind.
I know I try to visit at least 20 PAD sites each day to look at work- more if I have time. I think other PADers often try to visit other sites each day too. I think some people just try to use this to boost hits. I have got where I try to check the location of the pictures on the PAD pages and if it doesn't seem to be an actual PAD picture, I don't visit that site..
