Did it occur to you that it might be is because they are some of your best photos. They are well composed. They tell a story. They show talent. It is something most of us can relate too.

This photo is fun. Two young girls having what looks like silly fun. The wide angle helps with that feeling. You have a nice curved line going through where the sand tide debree line and beach meet. I think the B&W works here.

It is a good photo well beyond young girls in swimsuits.

...it's skin that grabs the attention.
I think that's a great shot, right down to the B&W conversion. But it's the cute young girls that FIRST grab your attention. It's a subject matter that jumps out to you from the thumbnail when other shots (involving perhaps even better technique) will fail to pull in that view.

Thanks very much for the compliments, it was a fun photo. And, by the way, it was actually 260 views in 12 hours, not 24 hours.

BUT I am pretty convinced that there are quite a few surreptitious PBase viewers who scan the meta galleries (and associated galleries) for pics with skin.

I can't imagine why it would be a surprise to anyone that sex sells. Knowing, as most people do, how many times an hour men think about sex (and women too) how can this shock or surprise anyone? We love sex.. we love flesh.. we love titilation..

Aside from that..That photo is great, as Bill said.. well composed.. great b&w tones.. lovely subjects..

You can see that the domed towers on that castle are quite provocative. I am sure that this has subconsiously influenced people to click on it.

It surely does...a few weeks ago, from desperation mainly, I posted a picture of a girl in a pink top - the alternative for that day would likely have been a giant bag of popcorn which was truly uninspired. The slightly out of focus picture I did put up got 100 hits within 24 hours whereas other much better pictures often get less than 30. Ho hum.
