Sooooooo... Is it cool to.......

finish up your year then just PAD once or twice a week afterwards? I want to stay in touch but really do need some time to get other affairs in order as well.

I see others doing it, but wondered how it is actually looked upon. Does completing a year put you in that special place? :D

I think people who complete a year should get a star by their username!

I don't have a problem with your idea why shouldn't you be able to continue but maybe it should be called a PAWN (photo a week or not) Quite frankly after carrying this camera around for 8 months I'm not sure I can leave the house without it. I do need help!!

Gary,

My belief is that after a year, peeps have earnt the right to go in the meta gallery regardless!

You may get the odd purist not commenting any more, I din't know.

To be quite honest, I was one such person until about six months ago!

You've given us so much good work over the year.

Be proud, man.

I appreciate your comment Ray. I really do want to remain a part of PAD, but need to really buckle down in school as well. To be able to wake up on the morning of the 26th and have the option would feel so good... :D

I am soon going to finish my year also Gary, April 15th, I am pondering the same thoughts, I would like to post once a week, honestly I would love to see your work posted in the PaD gallery once a week, and the purest who doesn't like it can pull my finger HAHA.

Gary, why bother about how other people "look upon" it? Do as you like and more power to you.

I believe the meaning of PaD has changed in time.
Currently PaD is:
1 a show-case metagallery where you can submit or not your daily photos (daily in a wide sense, PS included) asking for comments.
2. a community of active photographers with friendly chat relations among them.
Seems that the only rule left is to post there only once in 24 hours and that's good, otherwise the metagallery could become a real Chaos
That's my humble opinion...

I agree with Adal (poor thing)..

I think once in 24 hours is good just becaue I HATE commenting on someone's pic only to have them post another one an hour later.. grrrrr..
BUT anything goes, really.. I just find I am reluctant to keep making comments on their photo if they do this continually. I know some people do it when they catch up from vacations and the like.. which is cool.

And some people do it every day - 2 to 3 pics..

and.. and... and...

I guess I'm done

My year will be up on March 10. I plan on posting one picture each day but it won't always be one taken that day. In the winter months it's been hard to post some kind of meaningfull photo, sometimes the days just SUCK.
If I take a GOOD picture, I'll post it for that day, otherwise I'll dig into the archives and post what I feel is a good image.
It's been a great experience and I've loved the comments from all my new global friends. I've got to the point that if I don't get at least one comment on a photo I get depressed!
Thanks to all who have commented on my images.

Jude, there's no Law (sorry about the pun) that you have to comment on anybody's subsequent photos that day!

It amazes me how many photos you do comment on - how many hours do you spend on this

I must admit, I uploaded two photos today a few hours apart, but only one in the meta gallery.

Is that OK

The end is in sight

Post Fri Mar 04, 2005 6:57 pm

I'm done with my year of PAD on the 30th of March; but, I'm not sure if I'm done with PAD on that date. I know Wanda is done with her commitment to my PAD project on that day. I'm just glad she has agreed to the occasional appearance after March 30 but she is in need of a break.

So, I'm kind of thinking of doing a more normal PAD project without tyeing my hands with only one subject. It will feel like total freedom, I'm sure. I might even just go to the "Picture A Day when I feel like it" type of thing.

One of the nice thing about PAD is there are no rules but the one you set for your self. I make my rules so I can change them...Life is good!

This is what I was wondering about, since there has been so much controversy about it, but then got to thinking, I spent a year being disciplined to this fricken PAD thing, so now it's my time and my mb's... :D

I just wanted to see who my enemies would be I guess...
