I always thought Mirages happened only in deserts and hot tarmac, but noticed them on flat Norfolk beaches last week and quickly got fascinated by results I can vaguely associate with my favourite artist J.M.W. Turner eg
http://www.tate.org.uk/servlet/ViewWork ... rkid=14822.
The technical explanation can be seen at
http://mintaka.sdsu.edu/GF/mirages/mirintro.html , but I am more interested in playing about with light and maybe getting a bit artistic, as photographers may.
There is also a more poetic (literally and metaphoricaly) collection starting from
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Faral ... mirage.jpg and proceeding to Mila's own collection.
I have put my mini collection at

Have some of you got more contributions?
