For many years, this old watering can was a gateway for many uses: washing vegetables fresh from the garden, watering the early tender new flowers, filling the bird baths, washing dirty hands from tending the good earth, and also served as a flower "vase" on the porch near the swing filled with tall summer flowers..What a beautiful gateway this old shinning metal can has been for at least 75 years. All it required was to be filled with water, and with caring hands tilted toward the path of need and its open gates dispersed the water of life. All gates and gateways are not made of iron, concrete or steel. Some like my old tin can,
through small gates will open and flood the heart with loving gateways to memories.
