IMPORTANT

Post Tue Oct 14, 2008 6:17 pm

Hallo Southerners,

Thank you to those who have emailed/pm'd me to confirm their attendance at the Durham meet - you know who you are. We're a lucky 13 so far! The special meal request from Scotland's been noted, I'll make enquiries for Haggis pizza.

If you haven't emailed me yet to confirm your attendance, please do so NOW. I will need to know how many in your party, where you are likely to be staying, whether you'd like to join us for dinner around 8-9pmish on Friday night, any requests for dinner, and requests fro activities. There is a light festival on Saturday night. We plan to meet Saturday morning somewhere central/easy for coffee and cakes, then dinner Saturday night and plenty alcohol in between. I am arranging a dinner for Friday night for those who are already around.

Looking forward to see you in Durham!

Only five days! I suggest you keep a close eye on the wether, as it has been getting cold up here lately. Pack the thermals and waterproofs, just in case.

As for autumn colours: Don't hold your breath, although they have been splendid, the past few days have been very windy and most leaves have been blown off, but I hear a certain Pbaser is currently roaming the county with three simultaneously threaded needles, trying to save us a few !

Ermmmmm but, um... I have the simultaneously threaded needles but am having real problems using them to stitch the leaves back onto the trees... I think I'm being overambitious :(

nb. Thermals, waterproofs? All you need is a polo-shirt and an image stabiliser to counteract the shivering.

nb2. Falling leaves - that's one of the piccies on my list of "things to work out how to do"... hints'n'tips welcome :D

Do you need sewing lessons now as well? I offer competitive prices, satisfaction guaranteed, full money-back guarantee

PS: So I guess this means I have to get out my winter jacket - and to think we're expected to get up to 20°C tomorrow down here... *sigh*

Woo-hoo! See some of you tomorrow and all of you on Saturday! I have amended restaurant bookings to accommodate the tardies accordingly, so all sorted out for a nice do! Just hope the weather is playing!

I shall be very busy until then, and not be checking this forum, but you have my phone number for emergencies.

HI there

Nice to meet you all in Durham. Hope you all had safe journeys home.

I've posted my shots from the day in my gallery. Forgive me if there's some other convention for pointing people to your photos but I'm new to Pbase!

I think I was the only one present who shot film only, so my pictures will be up whenever the current roll of film is full. Good thing I'm off to Rome in 10 days... *whistle*

It was lovely meeting everyone and I hope that for the next meet-up I feel a little more inspired to take more than half a dozen pictures. Dunno what was wrong with me, it certainly wasn't the company!

Christine x

PS: If everyone's complaining about hills, I think we should have a meeting down here...
