Gone with the Wind is a 1939 American historical epic film adapted from Margaret Mitchell's Pulitzer-winning 1936 novel of the same name. It was produced by David O. Selznick and directed by Victor Fleming from a screenplay by Sidney Howard. Set in the 19th century American South, the film stars Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard, Olivia de Havilland, and Hattie McDaniel, among others, and tells a story of the American Civil War and Reconstruction era from a Southern point of view.
The film received 10 Academy Awards (8 competitive, 2 honorary), a record that stood for 20 years.Ben-Hur surpassed it in 1960

one of those cute tongue in cheek movies

Double challenge Entry, Movies and Arts...
In 2008, we suffered from a devastating hurricane. In Galveston Texas, over 40,000 huge live oak trees were killed by the saltwater storm surge. Local artists have come together to carve the oak stumps in to beautiful works of art. There are dozens of these sculptures around Galveston now. This one is a large great Dane. He is carved straight from the stump.
These artworks helped to cheer up many, and has created a little tourism income too!
The movie I selected from 2000 (I'm going in date order still) is Best in Show. I never saw the movie. Sounds dull, but the title is perfect for this fabulous carving.

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost ~ J. R. R. Tolkien
