Selective color in steps... I do like the less amount of what is colored a bit more than the whole mailbox that was left colored. I did leave just the hummer with color but just did not look as good as the one with the flower left color. The original had mostly green background that was pretty but the mailbox pops more with the desaturated & darkened background.

A somewhat hastily done submission today, unfortunately...

The wheel was selected, then I converted the background to B&W then added sepia filter. Same process with also leaving the birdhouse & window untouched. I think I may like that version better & looks very natural....I will switch their positions if the 2nd one is the preferred version.
I like both better than the original since objects pop more.

crazy I know but I have to say I'll catch up tomorrow.. I have a lot of new images to even look at from today and have got to get some sleep first! today being saturday which is now over.. I pulled this one and fixed it for us, ok it wasn't hard hehe.. but who remembers, without looking and cheating.. what other color was on these original Texaco star signs?

About 1/2 a mile from my home is Sugarloaf Open Space that has some old farming equipment. Revisiting got a new one for my Old Ways Gallery, had taken a similar shot in the summer of a different piece of equipment that I did in B&W which I put in with a link as a comparison. This I think is so much stronger:
I wanted to get the bars to come out of the corners as well get the rod leading to the back of this thing, but no way could I get them to cooperate... they just wouldn't budge
