This gypsee person once confronted me in a hostile fashion in a gmail because I asked an innocent technical question about one of her photos in a comment. She claimed that a comment was not the right place to ask a question. I thought it odd at the time and decided not to interact with her any more than necessary.

All I can say is I'm glad I made that decision! You would think that when people have reached her advanced age and have the means to spend summers in Michigan and winters in Florida, they might have achieved an inner peace and maturity that would allow them to treat others with respect and courtesy. One can only assume that her behavior is the result of deep rooted psychological problems most likely brought on by childhood abuse or neglect. This would be an interesting scenario to run by Dr. Phil.

But, if therapy is not something she wants to try, perhaps medication is advisable. I expect that Zoloft or Efexxor might be just the ticket to make Mary feel less inclined to let imagined slights drive her to mean-spirited, overly agressive behavior.

Good on you jude, and thanks for sharing.

Wow, Jude, I rarely come to the forum but i did tonight. Shocked, saddened, and perplexed. There is no logical explanation and no excuse for what she's done. Glad it turned out well with the boss.

Some people need to get a life!

Jude, I've always enjoyed your work and will continue to do so. Must be at least somewhat rewarding to get all these people declaring their support and affection, no?

Hang in there. This too shall pass.

Jude
I've been thinking about this, been bothering me. This kind of thing is not just an attack on you. It's an attack on all of us, If someone doesn't like what is said in a Forum, or if someone doesn't like our style of photography, it shouldn't be that they can attempt to damage us or out reputation. It's a real attack on freedom of speech, one way or another. I've got some controversial (to some) things in some of my galleries I've disagreed with people on the forums, here and elsewhere, as have most of us...this is more than unfair, it's just plain not right...All over the place it seems to me we are losing our rights, or they are being challenged. The right to say what we think, the right to take pictures, the content of art. Glad you have a cool boss, glad you asked about using the camera, but what if you hadn't? What if you lost your job just because of someone not agreeing with you, or thinking your art was controversial? It could happen to any of us then...Think you'll find a lot of support, as you should. :D. I don't like taking sides, but some sides are just there to take.

After viewing her galleries, I think I might have found out the reason she did this.

Krispy Kreme doughnuts come to mind.

I haven't had any run-ins with her myself, but I've heard about quite a few. All I can say is that anyone who would stoop to such levels and personally attack someone like this outside of this site cannot be stable. A person like that needs to explore their own life and fix what needs fixing while working to complete the areas of their life that are so lacking that they need to infiltrate others' lives.

I'm so glad you posted this because the outflow of love and support for you makes me feel that my decision to become a member of this site almost a year ago was definitely the right one. The sense of community among the people here is unique, except for the few bad apples. And just like bad apples, they will be left to rot alone, while the good bunch will go on to make beautiful things and be admired and loved.

You're an outstanding photographer, and I'm glad that everything with your job, and especially your boss, worked out well. He sounds like one in a million.

Keep up the great work!
Mark

I thought about this a bit overnight. Still pissed

I hope she does not call my boss (me). I might have to fire myself  I'm so confused :? I have been inspired by your work, so I guess I may be in her path-o-wrath

I'm a little late to the game but jumping in anyway. Jude, you have my support. I echo the sentiments previously posted and feel the need to say more... but how does one express the disgust I feel??

There is something to be said for online anonymity. Some people live in environments that are not supportive of being artistic or pushing boundaries.

I am not one of those people; my family, my employer, my friends all know about my photography and all know that I am often the one pushing the limits of what's acceptable. And they are all free to feel however they want about me, but they don't try to stifle my creativity.

Sometimes (given my supportive environment) I feel like I have an obligation to be open and public, because such openness disarms people like jypsee when they try to use those weapons against me. And with jypsee exposed and roundly berated, she might be less likely to pick on somebody else, who might not be as strong as Jude, or as free to be open and public with their identity.

Jude, thank you for posting this to the forum. And thanks for sharing your wonderful images!

:( I am astounded - I can hardly believe what I am reading. I wonder what on earth made her so angry as to try to go after you like that......

Interesting that one of her self proclaimed 'Dreams and Aspirations' is to 'To see without leaving the place changed by me being there'

taken from http://home.thirdage.com/photography/jypsee/

hmm...

I believe Mary has one of those bingo number dispensers, but instead of numbers, it has the names of PBase members on it. Jude happened to come up that day.

She attacked me one time simply because I told another member that I thought she (Jill) was one of the few true talents on PBase. I guess I wasn't entitled to an opinion.

The Boss

Now I have to jump in here.. since I first read this post, I have been thinking about what a sad and pathetic life one must have in order to attack others in such a malicious way. But Jeanne (and Jude and everyone else) don't censor your art! If you do, then the jypsees of the world have accomplished what they set out to do. Before I read about this, I had been thinking that this is such a wonderful place to express our individual tastes and talents - we can post our images and some will like them, some will not. The mature, well-adjusted viewer will simple move on when they encounter something that doesn't appeal to them.

just my opinion......

Faye, it's not that I'm CENSORING my art. It's more that I want to protect my personal information, like where I work and things like that.

I have no intention of censoring my "art" OMG! Not MEEEEEE!

I'm seriously considering removing the naked pictures of my girlfriend from my pages.
Someone could tell my wife!
