I agree with Adal. A number of people make a request. I actually sent a copy of a message jcboyd sent, saying I supported his request. The gallery gets restrated. Then it hangs again and stays that way until folks make another or many reqests. I find you only get action if you write to help@pbase.com and I now send the same message to support@pbase.com. Perhaps we could ALL set our mail programs to automatically send two emails each day with a reminder to restart the Popular Photo galleries. I know I can set that up in Outlook and I have considered it.
I use the popular galleries to make sure I am not missing amazing shots on pbase. I do a pretty good job of keeping up with PAD additions and seeing work that way, but not everybody has a PAD and many people have wonderful images in non-PAD galleries even if they have a PAD.--Rene

Seems your idea works Rene. I have sent 2 emails, 1 to help and the other to support, and the gallery has been updated.

It seems voting doesn't count. I've viewed several photos that had one vote. I then placed my vote, and days later those photos still only have one vote. Just one more thing that doesn't seem to work around here.

I've emailed "help" and "support" overnight as well to ask them to restart the pop photos - maybe if a few other people do the same in the next couple of days we might get a result. I've had my hit counter freeze for a few days for no apparent reason as well, but it fixed itself eventually.

hmmmm... it seems the "pop photos" doesn't work again. Those have been the same for more than a week now.
I vote, I vote, I vote, what is that worth? I vote much more often for photos than for galleries... Hope popular photos be updated more regularly again

Well, I'm glad that they were updated overnight. I voted for one of Niall's just before I went to bed and it was there this morning.
Incidentally, here is slug's reply to me dated 6 July 2005:-

I need to rewrite the queries to make it faster.
The current queries were taking way too long to run and slowing down the
whole site.
Once I rewrite the process, then that page will update daily again.

Interestingly, someone else spotted the other day that her votes weren't being registered and I wonder if others have experienced this?
