How strange it is to find out that a fellow classmate has become a published writer of short stories and many times includes people he has known through the years.
In this book he has written a chapter on St. Valentine's Day and captures the drama, anticipation and heartbreak of poor Paulie as he hopes to receive more valentines than the year before. The story is funny, it is sad, and it speaks to the importance of what some may think are inconsequential actions that can have a lasting effect on a young child.
I have read many of Bob's short stories and marvel at his wit and perceptions. And how special to read about our home town and those people who made it so memorable.
