It would need to be in May as the first part of June is Riverbend and there won't be a motel room within at least an hour of Chattanooga. Also, the riverfront is overflowing with preparations for the event, then the event, then the clean up so unless you are there to photograph those, it knocks out a lot of photo ops. Then of course July is sweltering heat and humidity........

i'm from southeastern state....in australia that is.
but would be happy to participate if someone is willing to put up the bill for the airfare.

I am in Knoxville. I have been working on a Spring Flower Bloom in the Smokies if anyone is interested.
Mostly I am getting together 4 or 5 folks from my photography certificate program (University of Tennessee) it would be cool if some Pbase folks could join in.

With the arrival of a baby 7 weeks back, I have neglected this post. Please forgive me.
I am still interested in a get together but the Early June Riverbend festival would pose a huge problem for logistics. Does anyone have another idea? Should we look toward a "fall color" gathering? I am open for most of the month of June. Planning ahead for a date in the fall may be more realistic at this point.

People travel from far and wide to be here in Chattanooga the last two weeks of October for the fall colors. So, that time frame could be good or bad, depending on a lot of things.
The last part of September and early October are usually pretty pleasant temp wise and with few storms and much clear air to make shots of or from the mountains.
