Ray Akey's was art.

Ok. A rather subjective answer, don't you think?

What made Ray's image art and the other image not, other than because you said so?

Maybe subjective for you but I agree with Ray. This image was crude, rude and socially unacceptable to all but the most base elements of society. It was something from someone's porn collection while Ray Akey's image was an artistic treatment of the female form. Surely you can see the difference between the two shots?

I see a great differences between them and, personally, I would even categorize Ray's image as art. But just because it is arguably art, does that automatically make it "socially acceptable" in all situations and societies?

Gary mentioned being responsible when posting. Nice idea in theory but is there anyone out there really doing this?

and what made you give it more viewers ?

the poster is a freak anyway, has another account and posted from this account 74x to people the same comment "Your gallery makes me tingle down below the waist. very sexual. erotic."

it should not be possible to vote and comment on or from trial-accounts

Believe me, it wasn't my intention. I guess I thought that bringing it to the attention of others would allow some sort of solution.

I have belonged to enough forums, (as I'm sure you have) that started out being great sites, then a few come on board that turn it into trash. The site then becomes a second rate place for individuals that get their jollies posting things the average person could care less about being a part of. Then eventually many just close down.

Mind you, I'm not talking just about photo hosting sites, but any site where its members merely sit back and let this class of people take over.

If I'm the bad guy here so be it. I'll let my subscrption run out and I'll move on.

why so sensible ?
you should know by now that posting such link is supporting the spammer - and for no other reason is this account and the one from adina_g set up

Sensative? Not really. Frustrated? Most definitely.......

I have developed a large viewer base among family, friends and even a client or two, some of which view from a PC at work. One friend was repremanded at work for viewing the PAD Meta Gallery.

I guess the bottom line is, it has to be an individual's decision to share viewing space with such images. If it isn't deemed appropriate by those a member invites to view. Then maybe that member needs to find another way of hosting images. That's all I was implying by saying "I'll move on."

Of course you don't. Is there anything else I might add that you can disagree with? I guess I might have added that the company my friend works for doesn't frown down on employees browsing during breaks and slow times, but they do frown down on sites containing porn.

Imagine that... PBase being considered a porn site by an employer.

I was also misinformed that PBase was a fun site, (though it is for many). In the beginning I was also told it was a great hosting site to expose work to perspective clients.

Thanks for making it seem as though I am the one on trial here good sir.

In the words of the latest song by Bon Jovi... Have a nice day!

overall you give a very "serious" impression of yourself, i almost might say bitter - you can correct me, but pbase was in the beginning meant as a site to HOST pictures, not as showcase for vanish people: 99% percent of all comments on pbase are compliments, you rarely find critiques, but that's okay, pbase was not created to be another photocritique site (which are mostly asskiss parties anyway)

if slug had not installed the "popular galleries" a lot of troubles are not here now - but you must be a dreamer if you think all people behave the way YOU wish and upload only pictures YOU like: the only way to achive this is by creating your own site

there is no medicine against idiots, so it's very hard to fight against those freaks who post crappy pornpictures, but the much bigger idiots are those who are voting for it and making it this way popup in the popular galleries

If individuals such as myself don't have the right to voice their opinion then so be it. You're right, I'm wrong... Thanks for the communication Erich.

I sadly have to agree with Erich (imagine that  ) that Pbase is just for fun. It is definitely not a place to take clients to. It is also not a place teachers can use to teach. It is probably not a place for your Grandmother or your Pastor. And for most of us, it is not a place for our children.

Gary, thanks for bringing this to our attention. Contrary to what Erich says, sites like these need to be exposed. Maybe if enough people are outraged by what they see, Slug might actually do something about it. But right now Pbase makes a very good home for sites like Ilovetaints which has been kicked out of more professionally run sites like MSN groups.

If you are really serious about your work, Pbase is definately not the place for you, it is just an adult playground. Have fun, "kiddies"!!

looks like my use of the word "fun" was totally misunderstood, either it's my bad english or some simply don't want to understand the words above:

may those few raise their hands who can honestly say "work is fun"
