Quit feeling sorry for yourself, dazed. Someone stole my bike yesterday. Beat that.

You don't want to get started with me....

My recent vacation:
I spent a ton of money renting an RV so we would be comfortable in the mountains and take our dog to compete in a dog show.
We get to the dog show and have to have a repair guy come out because the toilet leaks...a lot! We also noticed that the heating is not working so well.
At the dog show...when do you figure the dog would choose to go in to heat? How about the minute she steps in to the ring? I spend 2 days "camping" in a parking lot so the dog can go in to heat!
Speaking of heat...Did you know that it's just real darn cold at 10,000 feet when the heater quits completely? I lost a day of vacation getting the RV fixed.
It just keeps getting better.
So, after the show, Penny (dog) http://www.pbase.com/dazedgonebye/penny just seems not to feel well. We wrote it off to her season at first, but then we realize that she's not eating or drinking...at all! When she starts throwing up, we get her to a vet. Ends up she has a rock stuck in her intestines. Stupid rock eating dog! 24 hours later, she's had emergency surgery and I'm lighter by $1,200! I say again; Stupid rock eating dog!
The next day (you thought it might end there didn't you), I get a phone call from the pet sitter saying that my cat (Opus the 18 year old diabetic) http://www.pbase.com/dazedgonebye/opus is very sick. She took him to the vet and the vet says that he will die any minute.
The next day we started for home.
On the positive side, Opus has recovered a bit. We don't really expect him to last too much longer, but at least we are home with him now.

So Anna, what was that about a bike?

Alright dazed, you win this time. But I loved that bike and took very good care of it and even though it was more that 6 yrs old with hard use it still looked brand new. That's why somebody took it.
But it's not a living thing so you win.
If I find out who took it I will beat his guts out.

I hate to admit this, but this is one of the most amusing threads I have read in a long time. So is it sadistic to laugh at all these tales of misery? Sorry, all, I just had to LOL. --Rene

Better late than never I guess.
I finally passed the 500,000 visit mark yesterday. Coincidentaly, I had a gallery peak at 2nd place on the same day. If only I'd had a naked woman pic, I might have made it to 1st! (See the "Sex Sells" thread.)

Thanks to you all for the charity clicks. You've helped keep the damage to my ego to a minimum.

Congratulations, Dazed.

Are you going for that big number now?

And by when?
