To everyone who asked about why we don't have any rocks or stones in Houston -
Our ground consist of sands, clays and silts. The coastal plain on which we sit is part of a great wedge of sediment that dumped to the Gulf of Mexico by the Trinity and San Jacinto Rivers over the past few million years. If you dug down far enough, I suppose you would find some bedrock, or a thick layer of salt from ancient seas that covered this land.
Thanks for all of the nice comments on my photos so far. I'm enjoying both challenges. I don't get to post every day, so I have to skip Barbara's challenge on certain days. But it's fun to try to find ways to combine the two!
