IDEA FOR MAY 2011 SCAVENGER HUNT CHALLENGE

MAY is a month full of International Awareness holidays. If you go online and look around, you will find that your country has dozens of these holidays. Here is a one website that shows mostly all the countries. http://members.shaw.ca/high5/1105cal.html#01

I find it funny that we have these holidays to encourage Awareness, yet none of us is really Aware that the holiday exists. LOL. I gathered an extensive list of Awareness hoidays that we could use for another Scavenger Hunt. We could probably spread the word a little, help the world by being AWARE. These holidays are from the World list, not just American. We can add or delete some if you have suggestions.

ANOTHER idea for May's challenge is CONTRASTS/OPPOSITES as suggested by Yvonne. I think that is a good idea too and really would like some input for you all. May will be here in a few days.

I suggest we choose one holiday or celebration for each May day from this calendar, from the link you have just posted there.

This link could be posted at the beginning of the new May challenge and each people will choose his/her favorite/prefered celebration concerning a given day.

The theme could be "All in "Holidays" in May"
or "Celebrate each May day"
or "Be aware of every and all May Holidays and Celebrations".....

I'm happy to join in the Awareness holiday choices this month. I’m sure we’ll all be able to manage finding some good ideas to post from the many topics.

The April Scavenger Hunt went well, and this Awareness Challenge is really very similar. I like the variety it gives us and I do enjoy seeing different peoples’ versions / ideas of the suggested topics.

Sounds good to me. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to participate as I am on bed rest with mono but I'll try. I'm not doing well with the bed rest so I imagine as I feel better, I will be ignoring that. :)

I'm sorry you are sick!! Oh dear, take care! Perhaps there is a Mononucleosis week in May and you can do a self portrait. sorry... I had to make a joke because there are SO many awareness holidays in May. It's crazy!
