Has anyone ever thought of doing a scavenger hunt...a list of items to find or photographic challenges...then when completed a link to the galleries with the entries? Not really PAD gallery but perhaps another option for those who do not have the time to post and comment on a daily basis.

Could we do this? Really an extension of Tracey's "26 Things" some of you may have heard of.

We just have to cover the 30 themes during September. In any order and we don't have to do them everyday, as long as we have done the 30 by month end.

30 things

blue
crooked
heavy
nine o'clock
danger
vision
written
listen
getting there
more

natural
together
underneath
shopping
indulgence
memories
radial
speed
consequential
refreshed

chalk and cheese
pressure
smile
linear
wild
seasonal
multi-layered
twisted
four
energy

oh, and they should all be photos taken in the month..

This is kinda spooky as I had privately thought of the same thing  ( my eyes opened even more than the little guy's ) Even have a list of things written down just yesterday before I posted my question. Mine gave multiple choices, but Ray's quite challenging list looks good.

We were already doing a Scavenger Hunt, even for two months a year ago - Sept. and Oct. 2008

But what about the"Food and Restaurants" theme for September? I thought we have agreed on it in our discussion in July.

Jola - I won't be offended if people want to the food and restaurants theme - I'm not a regular on these monthly challenges so don't follow all the posts.

Why don't we do both, we can do "Food and Restaurants" in September and then do Ray's idea in October? That was everybody is happy I hope.

What is your list? Looks like this may get to be an October Hunt. Objects might be a bit easier for some. Maybe each participant gets to put in an object or idea.
A couple of things I thought of:

Alternative Use (Not what the manufacturer had in mind)
Light Me Up
Still like the idea of posting a link to your completed hunt. That way it's a surprise and not so much influenced by other entries. And not the pressure of submitting an image a day and commenting on so many.

I'm quite happy to do the scavenger hunt in October and in fact will suit me better.

I wouldn't expect people to do them in any particular order, and in fact you wouldn't have to post each and every day. You could take five themes all on one day and then pause if that suited you - just as long as you'd taken all the photos by the end of the month in question.

Flo we can have a revised list with some objects in if you like - but it's important to choose themes that are OK for everyone, from city dwellers to those living in the Outback in the southern hemisphere LOL!

This sounds like a very good idea and a different take on the challenge. I like the fact that there in no particular order and that you can do more than one per day etc.

So, is it "Food & Restaurants" for September and the "Scavenger Hunt" in October then?

Hang on a minute while I stamp the red southern hemisphere dust from my rubber thongs and shoo away the flies with my cork bobbing hat...Have been out searching for
restaurants. Will probably have a shot to cover September 1 & maybe 2, but they're pretty thin on the skyline where I am so will bypass this challenge until October when I will happily take part in
that one.

I know we did a scavenger hunt a while back but I think it's still a good way to stretch the imagination...

Enjoy September people. It was great sharing August with you...

Laine. :D
