I've been racking my brain, but here are three possibilities:

1. Food
2. Architecture
3. The Great Outdoors

How about a suggestion which would combine
two of Walters and possible Norman's as well -
our surroundings, taking in our street, road, town, village, countryside.

would it be restrictive to go for: "surroundings, taking in our street, road, town, village, countryside",
but without people or pets???

just a thought

cheers

The combination of Mairead and Barbara's ideas is a good one I think. How about something like this:

"Our surroundings, our town and our countryside."

How about "Free April"?

Literally a free challenge where everything is granted, admitted. It gives each one of us the opportunity do show what they love to do most, what they like. Further more on the presented images will have an enormous variety. As far as I'm concerned photo's, if chosen for my proposal, can be made whenever. It gives us all a good reason for going true the archives where hundreds or maybe thousands of images are covered whit dust ( I don't mean grain :).

I also want to use this opportunity to thank you all so much for your comments. It was my first challenge and I enjoyed it. Every bit of it. Your comments and support kept me going.

For those who want 2 see the Lost in Gallery as a presentation, I'm proud that I can tell that someone picked up my images and used them as a kind of support for his passion, Jazz Music. It's not my thing, the song he chose but as a whole it's not that worse.

Thanks you all Folks.

I thought last week's challenge 'Phrase, saying or quotation' produced some excellent ideas - there are thousands to choose from - could this be a possible theme for a month?

Wow, although not all appealing to me, i am very happy with all your suggestions.
a. transportation: I have nothing with transportation, so that is not for me.
b. architecture: I have everything with architecture, that is exactly why I will never make that my monthly challenge theme.
c. Food? mmmmm, I don't know. 30 days? don't think so, but possible.
d. Phrase, saying or quotation: agree that is fun to do, but we did something similar in November 2008: "A song, a poem or a proverb" http://form.pbase.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=39245
e. A free challenge where everything is granted: leaves us all a lot of space to upload, but it would not be much of a challenge in my opinion.
f. The great outdoors/Our surroundings, our town and our countryside: the complement of one of the themes of March. Is a possibility.
g.The ground we walk on: a bit like f. but more abstract; sounds appealing to me. Leaves us all within limitations a lot of freedom.
At the moment the last one would be my choice.
Maaike

Chris idea is nice, but it was the very similar one last November:

November Challenge: A Song, A Poem or A Proverb

I think we are starting to hammer it out here. LOL

I think there are a lot of great suggestions and I can see it being kinda a "soup" of several of them.

I am going to use Maaike's list to shorten things, I like your list Maaike. :) Thanks for doing that.

I think a combo of a,b, f, g could yield a lot of interesting angles and diversity. One could pick just one, or all 4 in one shot. I think in many ways these four all tie in together, and since this is a global list will show both the diversity and commonality of our world.

Is that being too broad?

(I think it is time for me to get back into this PAD thing, a three month break has been enough)

My thoughts: I like Maaike's ideas...for me a combination of f & g The Great Outdoors w/ The Ground We Walk On...but what to call it? How about Terra Firma?? That would obviously include water for any boat-dwelling Pbasers!!
