Possible Maine Meet-Up?

Might anyone be interested in a Pbase meet-up in Maine....Mid-coast area, or Baxter State Park, or way Down East in Coobscook Bay area....anyone interested? If so, where and what date(s)? I'm thinking somewhere in July (Aug and September are out for me as I am flat out working the best two months in Maine...boo hoo...but that does not mean the rest of you couldn't do it then).....feedback welcome!

July would be good for me with exception of July 4th and July 20.
I might be up in Searsmont / Belfast camping and seeing family in Lewiston. So anywhere in that area would be great.

Count me in. I would prefer to meet someplace within a reasonable drive to the ocean. Belfast? Acadia? July is good; keep the tourists in mind when you make a plan.

I'm from southern Maine and wouldn't discount that as a possible location as well. Let's see who responds.

Yes, there are also beautiful places south of Portland too. Please feel free to suggest an area. we can explore all options.

I think if we meet in Portland, there will something to please everyone, all within an hour's ride: rural farms, lighthouses, harbors, etc. There are several events coming - The Old Port Festival on June 1, the Ossipee Valley Fair July 10-13, the Norway Summer Festival on July 12. I am able to go anytime and would jump at any of these.

Being that I'm from Western Massachusetts, it doesn't matter if the meet up is in lower Maine or up by Belfast. The 13th is looking good for me. I'll most likely be in Belfast area but am willing to drive down to Portland area.

Thus far in the summer schedule Sunday, July 13 works for me. But I've got to be honest and say that could change at a minutes notice. Having small kids at home it's a bit tougher to nail down anything. Portland's only an hour from where I live and quite do-able.

I'm interested in trying to thread this into our summer. We will be on Mt Desert Isle the 2nd week (or so, gotta check with the wife) on vacation.

We are heading west for the week after the 4th of July (traveling on the 4th, woo hoo!) so that is out.

This sounds like a great idea - but for me, doubtful. I took my wife to the emergency room yesterday with a heart attack (lower half of her heart they found was not working), so it is day to day for the foreseeable future. Still keep me in the loop, and I hope it proves out to be a great event. thanks - Fred Parsons
