JULY 2008 KEW MEET-UP (...was "Anyone for Cliveden or Kew?")

Post Sat Mar 15, 2008 1:16 am

THIS TOPIC IS NOW FOR THE DISCUSSION OF A MEET-UP AT KEW ON SUNDAY 6 JULY... -- PLEASE SEE THE END OF THE THREAD!

TA!

==========

Just getting some ideas for a late-spring meet-up, a la last autumn's Kew Goils vs Boi(s)/Canons vs Nikon fun-fest!

Quite happy to take on the organization, if the venue makes sense to me...!

Cheers...

Kew was lots of fun last time so count me in for either of those venues. Have you got a date yet? Are we talking April?

Sounds good to me! I still have about 600 acres of unexplored Kew to cover...

I won't know until the last moment, but please keep me informed.

Saturday or Sunday?

Sunday seemed to be most popular, last time: so I'm going to stick with that for the moment, unless I'm told otherwise... ;-)

I was thinking somewhere around the end of April (20th, 27th) for, say, Cliveden; and perhaps July (6th and 20th are best for me...) for a return to Kew (for which I now have a small number of free entry tickets... -- first come, first served!) -- the new treetop walkway will be up, then; and the Garden Photographer of the Year Exhibition will also be on, as part of the Year of the Tree Festival....

No poll, this time: just let me know availability, please -- especially for April!

Ta...!

Hey, Kew was kewl last time ;-) Might be able to make 6 or 20 July and will know nearer the time. Is it safe to let Nicky on the treetop walkway ?

I've never been to Cliveden but can't do 20 or 27 April unfortunately :-(

In April I can do 12 or 13 and 26 or 27. July 6 or 20th look fine for me.

It looks like Cliveden on 27 April is the best bet, then: so I shall send a message to the usual suspects; and we'll take it from there! In the meantime, feel free to PM/email me, to let me know...!

(I shall send out directions, etc. a little nearer the time, once I have a better idea of who's going to turn up!)

Cheers...

PS: I shall sort out Kew in May/June...!?!

Final arrangements have now (finally...) been made for Cliveden... -- but if you want to join in, just PMail me, and I'll send you the details!

Fingers crossed for good weather... 8)

PS: The next Kew meet-up will almost certainly take place in July (6th or 20th).

Well, after some humming, and quite a lot of ha-ing... -- I've decided it'll be 6 July for the Kew Gardens 're-meet'. (I do so love the power that comes with being the organizer of these things...! ) So please let me know -- either here, or by PMail -- whether you can make it. Ta!

(Although the Henry Moore sculptures have gone, the tree-walk will be open (much to my dismay... ); and the Garden Photographer of the Year exhibition will be running -- giving us all the opportunity to say "Ooh: I think I could do a lot better than that...", etc....!?! )

I can't promise it'll be nice weather... -- but I'll do my best...!

Cheers...
