Looking for the perfect camera bag...

Post Sun Jan 07, 2007 12:03 pm

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy a camera bag, ideally a shoulderbag with enough space for 1 - 2 slr bodies and 2-3 lenses (for weddings).

What camera bag do you use?

Thanks,

Katie :D

Katie,

I have the Lowepro Nova 5AW - see the attached link http://www.cambags.com/canon/300d_10_20 ... W_desc.htm

I can fit a second camera in there by juggling with the Velcro dividers, but might be a tight squeeze depending on lenses what you are carrying.

But at a wedding, wouldn't one camera and lens be round your neck most of the time?

Ray

Might want to try one of the Lowepro Stealth Reporter bags. I have a D400 AW that is great. I have a 20D w/grip, 70-200 2.8, 17-40L, 50mm 1.8, 85mm 1.8, 550EX flash, lensbaby 2.0 and a 24mm 1.4L lens that I carry inside it. They even make these bags with laptop sleeves if needed. Here are some photos I put up on cambags.com...

Another option might be the new Lowepro Slingshot 300 bag, I'm looking at the slingshots for something easier to carry around while walking, and they are easier than most bags to get into on the fly.

Thanks for your reply. I was looking at the Reporter bags... they seem to be quite roomy and fairly light (I don't want a heavy bag before it has any camera gear in!)

I had a Slingshot bag but found it uncomfortable to wear all day, however in all the reviews it comes out very highly rated. :)

Beware the rucksack type of bag with the two compartments. Very convenient for separating cameras and other stuff e.g. clothing, but on a couple of occassions I have found it easy to forget to zip up the bottom camera compartment resulting in one or more bits of expensive kit falling onto the tarmac as I slung the bag over my shoulder.

+1, I bought my D400 for a trip overseas and it worked very well. That trip I was carrying 2 bodies and 2 lenses. Now I have 3 bodies and 4 lenses that I carry regularly.
Nikon D300, D200
Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D, 55mm f/1.4 micro, 18-70mm f/3.5-4.5G DX, 80-200 f/2.8D

I've just bought the Lowepro 200AW sling shot, its says it holds one body with attached lens plus another 2, but with some juggling you could get 2 bodies in there plus more!

I love this I havent got to put it down just swing it round my body!

Good luck finding your perfect bag!
