And so the challenge:

To me personally, photography is about emotion - be it joy, fear, disgust, awe. It's about making the invisible, the inferred, and the spirit as palpable as a heartbeat. It's not just about the moment captured - it's being able to imagine with detail the moments before and after that shutter snaps.

To me photography is about capturing life and expressing emotion with images. Not necessarily with portraits but in all aspects of life, nature and so on. It is simply life when it is done well. It is like a conversation without speaking.

To me personally, photography is all about exploration of certain ideas and concepts.
Today it is very easy to get excellent and technically acceptable results.
But to reach beyond that level is in my view very difficult - A lifelong challenge that causes sleepless nights.

To me personally, photography is about escaping from reality for even a brief moment. When I have my eye to the camera I am not an over weight, middle aged, wheelchair bound man from Southern California. I am instead, a man of the world seeking out to preserve life's treasures.

To me personally photography is a mode of communication or, if you will, a form of thought transfer. Still photography is a tool to record a slice of time and a pattern of light. The slice may be thin or thick and the pattern distinct or obscure. Any mixture is correct when the photographer’s idea is apparent to his audience.
