PAD questions (advantages, disadvantages)

Post Wed Nov 16, 2005 4:01 pm

Hi,

I understand HOW to create and upload to a PAD Gallery, but have a couple of questions:

1) Are you really only allowed to upload ONE photo per day?

2) What's the advantage of a PAD Gallery (does it get photos noticed)?

3) If I upload a photo to my PAD Gallery, but believe it also belongs in a seperate Gallery (e.g., "Street Photography") do I keep duplicates (i.e., one in the PAD Gallery and one in the Street Photography Gallery)

Please advise!

1. Some people I believe do upload more than one photo per day but only one will show up in the PAD Gallery as I understand.

2. The advantage is that you will be learning to shoot better photos because of the fact that you are challenging yourself to do so each day. Also, you will make many new friends by commenting on the photos of other artists who will in turn comment on your photos. They may be noticed more because the PAD projects are very popular here at pbase.

3. You can have them copied to other galleries such as you listed by doing so under the edit page. Its not a duplicate of the photo only a duplicate of the link so its not counted against your usage. All comments made in the PAD will showup with the photo in the copied to gallery.

Hope this helps!

You might want to take a look at this thread:

Simply put, it's a showcase for those who are posting one new picture per day, taken that day, although you'll find that interpretations of this differ...

1) Yes
2) The main advantage is that it makes you take up the camera every single day and use it. Good practice.
3) Just move it by "copy" in the editing screen. Then it shows up in both gallery but doesn't take up double the space.
